Why don't you make your books available in electronic form? You would save yourself all the hassle with printers!
In a word, piracy. An electronic book can be copied with a click. One person copies it for a few friends, they do likewise... everyone has a good read and I starve. With a printed paper book, people can still be naughty but it's harder and the results are less perfect. If there were a secure way to publish electronically, I might do so. But there isn't. I know about Adobe Acrobat's security features, but it doesn't really solve the problem. Top

Why do you publish your books yourself - is it just vanity publishing?
Vanity publishing means paying someone to publish your book, usually because the book is not publishable on any commercial basis. Self-publishing means publishing the book yourself - and some self-published books do very well commercially.

I actually like being my own publisher. It's hard work, which is a good thing, and it's fun and rewarding. I have had approaches from publishers. In my experience, this involves lots of meetings over a few centuries which lead to highly amusing letters like this. I don't blame the publishers - they have to go with the market. Top

Can you send me an email next time you have some new books for sale?
Be glad to! Just join my Mailing List (please see the Home page menu). Top

Why can't I get your books at Amazon and places like that? Aren't they good enough?
It's for other people to say whether my books are 'good enough'! As it happens, I have had someone at Amazon approach me about a re-seller deal, but for now I prefer to keep control over my own business. I may well change this policy, but not just yet. Top
