How To Work A MiracleIt
would be great, don't you think? To be able to do something miraculous. Well, on
this page I'll tell you how.
As it happens, I get lots of emails from people who want to do
miraculous things. Sometimes, it's because they've seen me on stage, reading minds or
predicting the future, and they want to know how they can do the same. Or perhaps they've
just seen a terrific magician in a show or on TV, and they want to know how to do
miraculous things.
Well, you can. Really. I'm going to tell you how.
Let's raise the stakes a little. Just how miraculous do you want to
get? Reading minds... doing prediction tricks... ESP demonstrations... these are good, but
let's aim a little higher.
How about power over life and death? Sounds pretty good,
doesn't it?
So do what I do. Give blood don't stop reading.
No, don't click away. Don't stop reading. Just get to the end of the
page.
Let's look at the usual objections to being a blood donor. There are
two classics:
1. " I haven't got time "
2. " I'm scared of needles / blood / anything medical "
First point first. Yes, you do have time. It takes about an hour
each time, so if you give twice a year that's two hours per year. I'll say that
again: two hours per year.
What's more, those two hours can be arranged to suit you, at your
convenience. There are sessions held at all times of day, from mid-morning to late
evening. Wherever you live or work or play, there will be a session near you somewhere, I
promise. You can even usually get time off work to do it! It's very hard for your boss to
deny you the time to donate blood.
As for the 'scared of this that or the other' problems, you're living
in the past. If you don't want to see or feel a needle, you don't have to. If you can't
stand the sight of blood, you don't need to see any. Just tell the people at the session,
and they'll take care of it all. They deal with these kinds of requests all the time...
it's nothing new to them.
There's nothing to need to know! You can find the
blood transfusion people in the phone book or by asking the phone information people or on
the internet. Just contact the blood service people and say you want to give blood but you
don't anything about it, and they will do the rest.
They will do all the work. They will sort out a where and
a when that suits you. Then you just go along and say, "Hi, I've never done this
before and I don't know what to do," and they'll take good care of you. That's all
there is to it.
We all like to be made to feel wecome, and made to feel important. Go
to give blood, and you are made to feel very welcome, and very important -- because
you really are. Far more important than someone who does mind-reading
tricks.
Look, we all know the reality here but let me spell it out for you: one
day, you never know, it might be you on the operating table, and you that
needs blood transfusions. No blood donors means no operation means no chance. It's not
fair to just leave it to other people. So give blood and be proud of it.
If you have any questions about this, send them my way and I'll be pleased to help. ian@ianrowland.com .
