TV Miracles > Predicting Future Thoughts 1 / 5 Esther
Rantzen is a household name in the UK. She is a highly successful and well-regarded
TV producer and presenter, writer, journalist and campaigner. Among other things, she is
widely respected as a champion of consumer rights, and at the time of this demonstration
she had her own BBC2 discussion show.
I was invited to appear on an edition of the show about psychics. I said I would
temporarily masquerade as a psychic, using the name 'Jon Rider', and demonstrate a stunt
in which I would predict the thoughts of a person in the studio audience (my real identity
and non-psychic status were revealed after the demonstration). Susan Blackmore, a noted
parapsychologist, was on the show as well. Viewers saw Esther Rantzen invite Susan to
choose a member of the audience for the experiment, which she did. Standing in the middle
of the studio, I addressed the person that Susan had chosen.
