Warning: do not try to organise your own firewalk. You will probably hurt yourself. You need the know-how and guidance of someone who has done it before.

A match is applied. There is a whooshing sound. Flames flicker and devour their way through the flame-friendly feast neatly arrayed upon the ground. The evening light fades on cue (the director has wisely realised the whole thing will look much better at night time). Men from the local fire service look on with bemusement, and the camera crews ready themselves.
