'LiVE TV' was the UK's first 24 hour live TV channel. For a late night special feature on mystery and mind magic, I demonstrated several items live on air, including psychic surgery. The spoon-bending demonstration was particularly interesting. I told viewers that while they watched me bend spoons in the studio (as shown) they would notice similar psychic effects in their own homes.

In a later phone-in section, one women called to confirm that this had happened. She described a spoon which her daughter had been holding, and which now manifested three twists in the handle. She confirmed that this had happened at the exact time I was bending the spoon earlier in the evening. (No stooges, plants or confederates. No collusion of any kind. I had no idea who this woman was.)

The studio was lit in rather an unconventional way to provide a suitably 'mystical' atmosphere. That is why these images appear the way they do.
