TV Miracles > Predicting Future Headlines 4 / 5Here
is a copy of the actual production notes, prepared by the 'This Morning' researcher, for
the show on Thursday 10th November. The relevant section reads: "TRICKS TO BE
DEMONSTRATED BY IAN ROWLAND \ Headline envelope \ Ian is going to predict today's
(Thursdays) headline in The Times newspaper. Yesterday (Wednesday) Ian sent you a sealed
envelope and in this envelope is his prediction. The envelope would have been kept under
lock and key until this item. Ian will have a copy of Thursday's Times Newspaper, he will
open the envelope and there will be a piece of paper stating the headline."
These notes are misleading in a couple of ways. First of all, I didn't open the sealed
prediction envelope, the presenter Richard Madeley did. And the phrase "would have
been kept under lock and key" is rather curious. It really was kept under lock and
key by the production team! (I swear this really is true.)
