The Vault > A.F.O.B. (2)(4 images. May
take a little while to load, but worth it).
He first appears in "Legionnaires" #43, published Dec 1996. That's the cover
below left. He makes his grand entrance by 'shaking hands' with another young super hero
at the auditions.

Later on in the story, there's a big fight with a baddie. Arm-Fall-Off Boy tries to
join in the fight, but he panics and goes to pieces.
This is depicted below left, easily the greatest single panel in comic book history. In a
later panel, we see he is crestfallen about his panic attack. Some other characters
console him, pick up his limbs for him, and advise him not to give up (below right).

A.F.O.B. actually makes his debut appearance in story called 'The Little Clubhouse That
Could'. When I first set up this A.F.O.B. page I had been unable to obtain a copy of 'The
Little Clubhouse That Could' despite my best efforts. Since then I'm delighted to say that
kind readers have sent me two copies! Such is the power of running a popular
website.
[ All images are copyright 1996 DC Comics, New York. I'm sure they have a lot of very
heavy lawyerage, and if they tell me to take these images down, I will, and I'll post
their legal letters here instead. Kind of a shame though, and not very good PR for DC. ]
