The Edge of Allegiance / Seance Set
No expense was spared on this reconstruction of a Victorian seance. The chairs, for
example, were genuine antiques flown in specially from England, and known to have been
used for spirit seances. They date from approximately September 1892, and were each
insured for over $10,000. Most of the props were of similar value. This thoroughness and
attention to detail even applied to the TV equipment used for this taping session. See
that camera in the upper right of the photo? That's a genuine antique TV camera, dating
back to at least 1910 (obviously refurbished for modern use, with some parts having been
replaced.)
