Applied Cold Reading (ACR) / details

What's it about?

It's the single most powerful persuasive technique in the world. If you want a more formal definition, here it is: 'ACR is a set of strategies, to do with the psychology of communication, that enable you to influence what another person thinks, feels and believes'. On the course, I show you how to use ACR in a positive and ethically responsible way.

(Please note that as well as the information on this website, I have created this separate website all about ACR that also has the dates for my public ACR Masterclasses that anyone can sign up for.)

We've all heard stories of someone going for a 'psychic' reading (tarot / astrology or whatever) and being amazed at the accuracy. It's not psychic, it's just clever cold reading. However, this is a trivial aspect of cold reading's potential.

I have taken some of the same strategies and techniques and shaped the into a comprehensive new system of communication psychology. Applied Cold Reading (ACR) has nothing to do with fortune-telling. It has countless applications in your personal and professional life, and it really works!

Content

I start by explaining something called the 'ACR Model', which has eight constituent parts. By the time the course is over, you will learn how to build one of these models yourself, to suit any context or situation relevant to your personal or professional life. I then show you how to use the model in real life situations, via a series of progressive exercises. These exercises are the fastest way I know to get your mind trained to think in a new way - the ACR way. I then add to the basic model with sections devoted to answering questions, making 'can't fail' statements, and the best distilled advice on building rapport that you've ever heard.

Benefits

You will gain a completely new way of thinking about communication, especially first encounters. In simple terms, it's based on making statements rather than asking questions. You will learn how to talk to someone (e.g. a sales prospect) so that they feel and believe you know all about them, and understand them perfectly. You will also learn the real secrets of achieving brilliant rapport highly conducive to sales and successful negotiation.

"I've been on a lot of training courses in my career and hands down, this is the best."

- Victor Ellis, Senior Management Consultant

Who is it for?

It's for anyone who wants to learn the best, most persuasive way to communicate with people. It's ideal for managers, sales professionals and anyone in the persuasion or negotiations business - incuding teachers, therapists and team leaders. It is also ideal for anyone who runs their own business or wants to.

Practicalities

I just need the people and a quiet room - that's it! No lectern, no stage, no audio-visual facilities of any kind. (I will provide some printed notes which serve as 'memory joggers' afterwards.) The true value of the course comes from the practical exercises that all participants should try for themselves under my supervision. For this reason, the course works best for small groups over two full days. You can reduce the time, or increase the size of the group, but this diminishes the effectiveness of the course.

Does it come with a money-back guarantee?

Of course! It comes with the Ian Rowland Guarantee - the best and simplest guarantee in the world. After I have presented the Applied Cold Reading material, if you feel it wasn't really worth my fee, just say so and I will cancel my invoice.

"This will be incredibly useful for me, for my business and the way I communicate with people"

- Daisy Jones, model and entrepreneur
