Training: The Practical Persuasion Method (PPM)
Overview
If you want to be more persuasive, in any situation or context, I can show you how. This is one of my most popular courses because it really works. I've presented this course to top executives from Coca-Cola, Google and the Stansted Airport management team.
What Happens
First, I look at traditional approaches to persuasion and why they often fail or don't seem applicable.
I then present you with a new model of persuasion — a fresh and practical way to think about persuasion in real life. This leads to a practical 4-step persuasive method you can apply to selling, negotiating deals, resolving disputes or just about any other context you want.
I present a few real-life case studies, drawn from business and everyday life, to show how the method works in practice.
Next, I invite the group or audience to suggest any situations in which they would like to feel more persuasive. I lead a discussion to see how the PPM would apply to this specific example. These discussions, involving the whole room, tend to get fairly lively!
I then conclude the course by mentioning a few additional principles of persuasive success.

Practical Matters
Time: the ideal duration is about 90 minutes, although the extent of the 'group discussion' part is up to you. I can trim the time a little if necessary, or extend it by including more real-life examples and extending the group discussion.
I can teach and present the PPM in almost any situation, for teams or groups of almost any size — including large conferences. I can use slides or just work from a whiteboard.
Everyone attending the PPM gets their own set of printed course notes. I supply you with the master copy, from which you print as many copies as we'll need on the day.
